I love the nicknames … I’ve played the “Cliffs of Doom” in even par. It was the 18th that got me – took a 7 to shoot 80 that day … lol!

Let’s see what are some others … Blue Monster … Postage Stamp … a couple come to mind.

Tiger Woods is a member and valued asset of the PGA Tour. Steve Williams is not. It is the responsibility of the Tour to protect their members. If this doesn’t call for disciplinary action, then what does? How far can you go? The Tour should have protected thier asset and suspended Willimas if only to make sure this does not happen again. Tiger is the Show, not Williams.

If you yook a shot at Tim Finchem, you would get fined or disciplined for sure. Mac O’Grady paid a heavy price for criticizing Deane Beman.

thank you David Barrett. Tiger the Great has spoken \"Stevie is no racist\". Williams may not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but if we fire ever dim wit most of the writers and pundits would be without a job tomorrow. Surely there are more compelling stories in golf than this.

Just in case ET doesn’t cosanction the event next year and you again need to find the complete scoreboard for the Shanghai, it is posted on the Shanghai Masters website. The front page gives you the top 10, but underneath that top 10 is a link to the complete results.

A follow up article would be good on how these guys can use this information to get better numbers on there putting stats. Such a for the guys that are low on the putting stats don’t three putt and or improve you chipping to under 3 feet etc.

I think the course more than answered the critics last week. The argument that the finishing four holes would only create disaster and no charging excitement? Hardly! Bradley\’s birdies on 16 and 17 in regulation, and 16 in the playoff, along with Duffner\’s birdie on 18 in the playoff showed that great shotmaking is rewarded. And because of the holes\’ difficulty, a birdie allows someone to recover from even a triple bogey disaster like Bradley did from 15. And for those who claim there is no variety at AAC, did they not notice the flexibility of the set-up with 2 drivable par 4s? Even the easiest hole on the course, the par 5 12th, offers some exciting shotmaking.

No doubt this course belongs in the top 100!

David, I had been wondering what ever happened to David Earl., we were in a band together in Charlotte NC in the late 70s early 80s He was a good friend, so sorry to hear he passed away. Thanks for posting this tribute.

David, I just found this site by accident and boy am I laughing. I lost my Brutal Rough casette tape years ago and have hoped beyond hope to recover that some day to show my kids and not only do I get the music back but a whole history of the band. Wow! I am amazed by the accuracy and dtail sof your reflection but not surprised since you are a great journalist and writer. I’ll have to dig through my memoriabilia crate but I am sure I have the original lyric s to the Resource Rap in my basement along with some flyers promoting one of our gigs. I remember that birthday party gig and, was it Bob Beauregard? who upon introducing the band put a wicked slur into my name . . . Chris Yurrrrrrrrrrrko? I only found out a few years ago that Duke had died. He was quite a character, smoking stogies in his office and attracting the venom of some pregnant woman who worked at Ski magazine down the hall. I still have some of his blues LPs that he let me borrow for inspiration during our playing days. I’ms ure Ill think of more stuff to add. Glad Brutal Rough hasn’t been lost to the sands of history.
